The days of Hajj at a glance

Whichever country you travel from, the rites are the same. On 8 Dhul Hijjah pilgrims enter ihram and go to Mina. On the 9th they stand at Arafat until sunset, then spend the night at Muzdalifah. On the 10th they stone Jamrat al-Aqabah, offer the sacrifice, shave or trim, and perform Tawaf al-Ifadah. The 11th to 13th are spent in Mina stoning the three Jamarat, and the farewell tawaf is performed before leaving Makkah.

Choosing a Hajj package within the official system

Approved Hajj packages differ mainly in the type of camp in Mina and Arafat, the distance of your Makkah accommodation from the Haram, the transport used between the holy sites and the level of guidance included. Some packages stay in the Aziziyah district between the Haram and Mina, while others use hotels closer to the Haram for the days before and after the rites.

When comparing options for hajj from france, look closely at what is included for the five days of Hajj, how many people share each tent, whether meals are provided, and who will guide your group. Ask about support for elderly or less mobile pilgrims, and keep every confirmation in writing.

What to compareWhy it matters
Mina camp location and categoryAffects walking distance to the Jamarat and comfort during the days of Mina
Makkah accommodationDetermines how easily you reach the Haram before and after Hajj
Transport between sitesBuses or the Mashaer train shape your timings on the busiest days
Guidance and scholarsClear instruction makes each rite easier and more meaningful
Madinah stayMany packages include days in Madinah before or after Hajj

Hajj from France: life in Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah

Pilgrims spend the core days of Hajj in tented camps, often sharing space with many others. Expect long walks, early starts and heat, especially during the day at Arafat. For anyone undertaking hajj from france, patience, good company and simple routines — water, shade, rest and dhikr — help you focus on worship rather than discomfort.

The night at Muzdalifah is spent in the open, so a light mat, a small pillow and a scarf for warmth are useful. Most pilgrims collect their pebbles here for the stoning of the Jamarat over the following days.

Returning home after hajj from france

Returning home from France after Hajj is a new beginning. Many scholars encourage pilgrims to keep the habits formed during Hajj — regular prayer in congregation, Qur’an and remembrance — and to protect the forgiveness they hoped for. Families often welcome pilgrims home with gatherings and du‘a.

We return, repenting, worshipping and praising our Lord.
