Umrah from Dubai: airports and flights

Pilgrims from Dubai usually fly from Dubai International (DXB), Dubai World Central (DWC) and nearby Sharjah (SHJ). Short flights of about two and a half hours run many times a day, and some groups travel by road. Most journeys arrive in Jeddah, about ninety minutes from Makkah by road or train, or in Madinah for those who prefer to begin with the Prophet’s city.

When you request a quote for umrah from dubai, tell us whether you prefer a direct flight or a better-timed connection, and whether anyone needs extra legroom, wheelchair assistance or an aisle seat. We compare the options and explain the trade-offs clearly.

Visa and Nusuk for umrah from dubai

GCC nationals can travel with their national ID. Many UAE residents are eligible for the Saudi eVisa or an Umrah visa depending on nationality and residency; Umrah is then booked in the Nusuk app. Rules can change at short notice, so always confirm current requirements on the official Saudi visa portal.

Install the Nusuk app before you travel. It manages Umrah permits and Rawdah appointments in Madinah. Our Nusuk help article explains each step.

The Miqat on your route from Dubai

Flights from Dubai normally cross Qarn al-Manazil (as-Sayl al-Kabir) by road, or the Miqat announced on your flight. Change into ihram before boarding or on the plane, and make your intention when the crew announce the Miqat. If you start in Madinah, you will enter ihram at Dhul Hulayfah on the road to Makkah.

When to plan umrah from dubai

Ramadan, long weekends, Eid holidays and the winter school break are the busiest times for UAE residents. Ordinary weekends outside holidays, and the weeks after Ramadan, are calmer. Ramadan 1448 is expected to begin around 8 February 2027, subject to moon sighting, and hotels close to the Haram fill quickly for the last ten nights.
